Application and Requirements

BRICKLAYERS AND ALLIED CRAFTWORKERS LOCAL 9 PA JOINT APPRENTICE & TRAINING COMMITTEE accepts applications for the following trades: Bricklayer, Cement Mason, Pointer-Caulker-Cleaner, Stone Mason, Tile Layer, Terrazzo Workers, Tile and Marble Finishers, and Marble Masons.

The minimum requirements are as follows:

  1. Applicant must be of good moral character and be able to perform the physical work of the trade.
  2. Applicant must be 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or G.E.D. certificate, or must be 17 years of age and have a high school diploma or G.E.D. certificate and a parent or guardian signature.
  3. Applicant mush have a valid PA drivers license.
  4. Applicant must take a written exam set up by the J.A.T.C., and attend an oral interview.
  5. Applicant must pay a non-refundable processing fee of $25.00 upon submitting the application.  Payments may be made by cash, check or money order payable to "BAC Local 9 PA JATF".
  6. Applicants may be required to submit to a test for substance abuse.
  7. Applicant must be willing to attend an out-of-state school for 8 weeks.
  8. Applicants must reside within the jurisdiction of B.A.C. Local 9 PA and the appropriate area/chapter for which they are applying.
  9. Applicants are subject to a criminal background check.

Applications are accepted throughout the year; new apprentices are brought in as needed.  Submitting an application is the first step for consideration in our program.  Return application to:
